A hidden gem in the mangroves

Our stay was highlighted by Marilynn’s warmth and how she arranged an unforgettable boat trip to a secluded island. Morning greetings and accommodating service made us feel special.

The accommodation was a bit far from the main attractions, which required us to rely on our rental car for excursions. Also, the breakfast spread could have been more elaborate.

Borrowing a container for our hikes was incredibly helpful, and seeing monkeys from our window added excitement to our stay. Marilynn’s personal touch truly made us feel at home.

my stay at kayak lodge was, dare I say, below my expectations. the room was gloomy and completely unlike the pictures. and for such a high price, I expected at least a little attention, perhaps a complimentary bottle of water? breakfast was the most basic – just toast and tea. such a letdown.

Just a nice choice for short visits in Damas with incredible value for money. The air conditioning worked great, which was a big deal in the heat. Bring your own snacks as breakfast is basic.

Marilynn made our two-night stay memorable, offering assistance whenever needed, including providing a container for our hiking meals. The beef dishes were a highlight during our meals, complementing cozy and comfortable accommodation. However, the WiFi connection was inconsistent at times, which was a bit frustrating. Our group also felt there could have been more organized activities to enhance our experience.
